The Greek myth "The Rape Of Europe", depicted by countless painters such as Titian, Tiepolo, Veronese, tells about the kidnapping of Europa by Zeus in the form of a bull, to love her against her will. The video entitled Race of Europa is hypnotic and stroboscopic like the times we are going through and reflects on the difficult condition of contemporary Europe, threatened and subjugated by violent and inexorable capitalism (the bull is also the symbol of Wall Street). Europe takes unpopular positions dictated only by the high finances hoping to hold on an ancestral ideal of the community, now in serious danger of falling and breaking.

About six thousand people have inhabited the caves Chiafura (Scicli, Sicily) until 1959: the year of construction of public housing. The images of the video seem to belong to a distant past but the “hundred mouths” carved into the mountain and the memory of the people testify to its proximity. This place is peculiar for its significant history, which shows the radical transformation of a country from the rural to an Italy driven by ideals of economic and social progress.

Video shot in sequence plan. The artist turns herself into an “accidental tourist” grappling with an unusual exploration around the Manhattan’s soul. The heart of the city is recorded in one shot, without interruption, the cinematographical structure is like that opening credits of a movie that is about to begin; the 42nd street in his status of symbolical space, brimful of blunders and neon signs is crossed by anonymous human figures. People transit the crossroads like accidental tides, overlapping each other and become “famous” for the short time of their passage and then fade away, replaced by other momentary “stars” . During this fleeting transit, it’s the artificial “genius loci” of this non-place to choose and determine the real stars of the show as part of “Cross Broadway”.

The physical concepts of classical mechanics compose the narrative element, while the documentarist aspect relies upon images of the area east of Naples. The combination of these two elements intends to show how these areas under-utilized possess an enormous opportunities of development, which, if triggered, could result in a reclassification of this area and a new action / reaction with it.

This video is a brief documentation of the on-going and research based project Heuristic Records.
Through particular discursive practice we explore the ways of proceeding. During the dialogue two to one we invite the participant to transmit his/her own intimate way to face the unknown in an "acoustic image" that we also called cyborg-phoneme. This sounds are thought as a tool, as a prostheses to enlarge the cognitive activity.

Edited by layering footage materials and the movement of ciprinus carpius - the fish symbol of courage and immortality - Waterproof, wanders around the figure of Richard Nixon, whose impermeability to media attacks assured him as singular political longevity as sinister. The video becomes an excuse to open a debate about the role of the media instrumental in order to achieve and hold the power.
